Meet The Team

MML has recently transitioned into a studio hire setup, so that students/parents are in direct contact with their teacher. This has helped streamline all communication.

You can get in touch with your preferred teacher below. If you're not sure who to choose, you're welcome to contact Jana our studio owner to discuss.

All staff members hold current Working With Children Checks and COVID-19 Vaccinations.

Jana

Studio Owner & Piano Teacher

Since beginning piano lessons at age four, music has become such a positive part of my life. I started Melody Music Lessons in 2014, and I really believe I have the best job ever! I love teaching and I think it's such an inspiring, fun and creative art form that can help us flourish as people and musicians in many different ways.

I finished my double degree BMus(Hons)/BA at UNSW in 2018, receiving a High Distinction for my Honours thesis in Music.

I really believe that music is for anybody, at any age, with any experience. It's such a beautiful creative outlet that anyone can take part in. Everyone is welcome!

In my spare time you can find me on my yoga mat, walking my dog, in the garden or reading a good book!

Tom

Piano Teacher

I've loved playing piano since the moment I started. It's so fulfilling and rewarding to share my passion through a teaching style that is positive and exciting, but also patient and focused on making sure students are confident in their understanding of content.

In 2022, I achieved Grade 8 in Piano Performance and Grade 4 Musicianship, while also a Band 6 in HSC Music 1. I am an experienced public performer having been involved in school bands and music showcases, while also in theatrical performance and school leadership.

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Law/Economics at UNSW, but in my spare time you can find me on my surfboard catching waves down at Maroubra Beach!

Giac

Drums Teacher

Behind the drum kit Giac frequents the stage in and out of Sydney with over 10 artists varying in style & setting, gaining invaluable experience as a working musician. Giac’s 17 years as a drummer has allowed him to apply these skills in the studio, expanding his passion for music to the process of capturing and creating music through recording, production and songwriting.

He is currently in his final year of completing a Bachelor of Performance (Drum Set) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. By the end of High School Giac had finished HSC Music 1 in NSW’s top 50 with a band 6, along with the completion of AMEB’s Rockschool program. His HSC performance major on the drums also earned an encore nomination.

Giac wishes to guide each drummer individually towards their respective dreams and goals, while helping them grow into a seasoned musician with no ceiling!

Jacky

Piano Teacher

My music adventure started at age 5 when I commenced piano lessons. Since then music has continued to shape my life.

In 2020, I achieved my AMus in piano performance with Honours and was ranked 5th in the state in HSC Music 1. I am also experienced in public performance through my involvement in school choirs, solo recitals and eisteddfods. I believe my experience can help students of all levels to enjoy the magic of music which brings perpetual joy.

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Arts/Education (Secondary) at UNSW to further pursue knowledge in music and pedagogy. With a great passion for teaching, I have always loved to witness each student's unique talent, their vibrant identity and their action in using their skills to inspire more people.

In my spare time, I enjoy expanding my Pinterest board on beautiful pots, cups and plates.

Saharsh

Guitar Teacher

Hey, I’m Saharsh! I’ve been playing the guitar for 9 years, and have been sharing my passion for the guitar through teaching for the last 2 years. My favourite styles span a variety of genres, from classical to blues to funk, and even a touch of jazz!

Beyond teaching, I have a strong history in performance. I’ve played at numerous venues around Sydney and Newcastle, both as a solo act and as part of a band. I’ve also done a number of musical theatre shows as a lead guitarist.

As a teacher, I strongly believe that learning guitar should feel like fun. I strive to create an engaging and enjoyable environment for my students, and offer tailored lesson plans based around my student’s own goals and aspirations, whilst ensuring to teach foundational music theory and proper technique.

Whether you aspire to strum heartfelt acoustic melodies around a campfire or unleash some electrifying solos on stage, I would love to help you reach your musical ambitions.
